Your Favorites

Your Favorites is a place to gather your favorite artists, albums, songs, playlists and Stations in one place. To add music to your Favorites, find an album or song and longpress (tap and hold) it. Select “Add to Favorites”.

To remove music from your Favorites, tap the artist name and select an album. If you want to remove the whole album, tap the green check mark (or downloaded icon) next to the album name. For individual tracks, longpress on the track.

How to view Play Later on your iPad

Tilt your iPad to landscape view (horizontally) and find your list of songs queued for Play Later at the bottom.

Download to Mobile

Downloaded music is stored locally on your iPad, and does not need a WiFi or cellular data connection to play. You can download as much music as will fit in your device’s storage, and it will be playable as long as you have an active trial or Unlimited subscription.

Managing Downloaded music

To download music, find an album or song, longpress it or tap the gray icon, and select “Download to Mobile." Music downloaded for Offline play is marked with an orange mobile icon. You can also use Rdio’s web site to mark music for offline downloading, which will happen the next time you launch Rdio on your iPad.

To manually switch between Online and Offline Mode, launch the iPap app, scroll to the bottom of the left-hand navigation menu and tap the Go Offline option. Offline, you can see your downloaded Favorites, and any playlists you have downloaded to your device.

Remove albums and songs from your downloaded Favorites by tapping the orange downloaded icon
and selecting "Remove from Mobile".

Creating a Playlist

From the iPad app you can create new playlists and add or remove songs in existing playlists.
To create a new playlist, longpress any album or song and select "Add to Playlist". Then choose the "New Playlist..." option at the top.

Add tracks to your existing Playlists by tapping a song title and selecting “Add to Playlist.” Choose which Playlist you would like to add to from the menu.

To delete a song from a Playlist, open your Playlists from the left-hand navigation bar, longpress the song, and select "Remove from this Playlist".

Searching for music

The search bar is located at the top of the app menu. Type what you’re looking for—the dropdown will update as you type. If you’re not seeing what you’re looking for there, tap the Search button on your keyboard to see your results sorted by Artists, Albums, Songs, Playlists and People.

Sharing music

You can share songs, albums or Playlists while you’re on the go—just longpress the item and select Share. Post it to Facebook, Twitter, or copy the direct link to share elsewhere.

History shows a record of what you’ve been listening to on Rdio.

New Releases

Stay up-to-date on new music via the New Releases section. View new releases from this week, last week, or two weeks ago.

Shuffle and Repeat

Tap the player control bar, then tap on Shuffle or Repeat to activate that control.

In the same bar you can access the playbar and timer, back and forward track, and the Airplay control.

How does remote mode work?

When Rdio is active on another device, you’ll see “Rdio is playing elsewhere” in the now playing bar at the bottom of the app. In this mode, you’ll be able to play/pause the music, change what’s playing, and toggle shuffle and repeat controls remotely.

To play Rdio from your iPad instead, tap the player control bar, then tap "Play here instead".

Go to the left-hand navigation bar and tap Settings to open the Settings page. There you can sign out of your account, manage quality settings, and control whether the app will start downloading automatically if you are Online.

Get Help

If you have any questions or issues, tap Help at the bottom of the left-hand navigation menu and select "Email Rdio Help" to contact us.
