What’s my Collection, and how do I add to it?
What does Sync to Mobile mean?
Synced music is stored locally on your iOS device, and does not need a WiFi or cellular data connection to play. You can sync as much music as will fit in your device’s storage, and it will be playable as long as you have an active trial or Unlimited subscription.
How do I manage my Synced music?
To sync music, find an album or song, longpress it or tap the gray icon, and select "Sync to Mobile." Music synced for Offline play is marked with an orange mobile icon. You can also use Rdio’s web site to mark music for offline syncing, which will happen the next time you launch Rdio on your iPad.
How can I manage my queue?
View and manage your Queue by tapping "Queue" in the left-hand navigation menu. Here you’ll be able to see and edit your currently playing music, view the albums or playlists you have lined up to play next, an also change the auto-Station toggles.
To add music to your Queue, simply longpress on the album or song and select "Play Later." You can remove items in your Queue by tapping their menus and selecting Remove from Queue.
Want to play a Station when your Queue runs out, edit the existing Station, or turn auto-playback off completely? Click the ON/OFF to view your options.
What can I do with playlists?
Add tracks to your existing playlists by tapping a song title and selecting “Add to Playlist.” Choose which playlist to which you’d like to add from the menu.
To delete a song from a playlist, open your playlist, longpress the song, and select "Remove from this Playlist."
How do I search for music?
The search bar is located at the top of the app menu. Type what you’re looking for—the dropdown will update as you type. If you’re not seeing what you’re looking for there, tap the Search button on your keyboard to see your your results sorted by Artists, Albums, Songs, Playlists and People.
How do I share music from the app?
You can share songs, albums or playlists while you’re on the go—just longpress the item and select Share. Post it to Facebook, Twitter, or copy the direct link to share elsewhere.
Can I access Rdio’s social features on the iPad app?
See what your network has been listening to by tapping Heavy Rotation. Tap any album cover to view the album and start listening.
You can also start a random mix of your Heavy Rotation by toggling to that option in your Queue.
Select Recent Activity to see a feed of your network’s activity—you’ll see updates when people you follow add music to their collection, create or update playlists, and more. Tap on someone’s name to view his or her profile.
History shows a record of what you’ve been listening to on Rdio.
Can I see what’s new and popular on Rdio in the iPad app?
Stay up-to-date on new music via the New Releases section. View new releases from this week, last week, or two weeks ago.
See what’s trending on Rdio — view the most popular Albums, Songs, and Playlists.
Can I use shuffle or repeat?
In the same bar you can access the playbar and timer, back and forward track, and the Airplay control.
Where are the volume controls?
The app volume is controlled by your iPad's hardware volume buttons.How does remote mode work?
When Rdio is active on another device, you’ll see “Rdio is playing elsewhere” in the now playing bar at the bottom of the app. In this mode, you’ll be able to play/pause the music, change what’s playing, and toggle shuffle and repeat controls remotely.
To play Rdio from your iPad instead, tap the Play Here Instead option.
How do I adjust my settings?
Can the Rdio iPad app be used with multi-tasking?
Rdio for iPad supports iOS multitasking. This means you can double tap the Home button on your device and scroll left to access the Play/Pause, and the Previous/Next buttons. Additionally, Apple’s headphone controls also work to play/pause and advance to the next track.
