How to play Rdio to my home stereo system?

Jordan W. Jun 25, 2012 08:13PM PDT

I have a Squeezebox connected to my home stereo system, but Rdio unfortunately does not support it. What alternatives do I have for playing Rdio through my home stereo system, assuming that I don't have a TV and don't want to pay big $ for a Sonos system?

Hi Jordan,

You can use a Roku box or any iPhone/iPod docking station that's connected to your home stereo.

Best,

Thanks Nate -- I'm not an iPhone user and it seems that a Roku box would actually require a TV to use with Rdio. Thanks though.

Hi Jordan,

Any Android device (phone or tablet) would also do the trick. Alternately, you could connect a computer to your stereo system using digital or analog outputs, depending on your computer and desired audio quality.

Nate, so is the only way to control rdio functionality wirelessly only through a SONOS system?

Hi Howard,

Depending on how your systems were set up you could control your home theater setup wirelessly with a laptop. Improved functionality is coming for our mobile devices, so stay tuned.

Best,
Nate
