Are Roku and Sonos the only home media players supported?

Elliot Smith Aug 01, 2012 06:32AM PDT

I'd like to use rdio on a home media player, and I am considering which player would be best to buy. Ideally I want to get something wireless, but don't want to spend a lot of money on Sonos kit (my current favourite is http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005NYOKC2 as the reviews are good, it's cheap, and it supports iPlayer, YouTube and Netflix).

Do you have a definitive list of which home media players are supported and/or roadmap of what you're going to be supporting in the near future?

Thanks.

Hi Elliot,

Thanks for getting in touch with us! At the moment, we're only providing support for Roku and Sonos, but thank you for letting us know that this is a platform you’d like to see Rdio support. While I can't comment on our future plans for supporting specific platforms, we’re definitely keeping track of your interest.

Cheers,
Madelyn

is there any kind of standard you could support, like shoutcast or similar? I know that would remove functionality, but having a standard stream that could say play from your current queue point and return the artist/song title in the stream would be useful.

Actually, this would be great because I could use winamp or similar to play my queue, which would finally let me use global shortcuts to pause the music when someone wants to talk to me.
