Suggestion: Persistent search or quick menu

I find this very cumbersome on the iPhone app: I choose something to listen to. It's a guess to some extent. As it starts to play, it turns out, it's not what I want.

I now have to click Hide - Artist name - Search - then click in the search box.
That's 4 taps (and keep in mind I may be driving :)

I feel there should quick global access to search.
(also its not clear to me that the Now Playing has to pop up).

How bout something like the side menu that the Facebook app has with quick access to Search, Collection, Heavy Rotation, Playlists.
