"'Oi Rdio' is damaged and can’t be opened"

Eduardo Habkost Aug 08, 2012 07:27PM PDT

Hi,

I tried to download the Rdio app for Mac. The download link directed me to http://www.rdio.com/media/static/desktop/mac/oi/OiRdio.dmg , but after copying the app to Applications and trying to run it, I get the following message:

"“Oi Rdio” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash."

It looks like the app signature isn't valid. Maybe it's a side-effect of the way the "Oi" branding was added to the app[1]. I am running OS X 10.8, and my Security settings are set to "Allow applications downloaded from Mac App Store and identified developers".

[1] I manually downloaded the non-Oi-branded app from http://www.rdio.com/media/static/desktop/mac/Rdio.dmg , and it can be run successfully on my computer.

Hi Eduardo,

Thanks for writing in. It looks like there is an issue with Gatekeeper blocking the Oi app at the moment, deactivating it should allow you to install it. I've passed this along to our team, thank you for reporting it!

Best,
Emilie

Hi Ricardo,

Did you deactivate Gatekeeper? A bug report on this has been filed!
