First off...let me say, I have been using rdio for a long time on android and iphone and web and it has always worked great. I tried MOG and spotify and decided on Rdio then. I'm said to say, afte the past month or two, i'm about to switch again.
I've restarted the phone, I've done what the post say, and it is just horrible now.
When I start up the app, and select a song, it takes about 10-20 seconds to start up. then when it switches to the next song, it takes about 10-20 seconds. This is on 3g, 4g, wifi and synced. It seems like synced may go a bit faster, but not less than 5-10 seconds. I had a party the other day and one of my friends said "your jukebox sucks!"
It all started when i updated about 1-2 months ago..whenever the little loading lines were added. about 4-5 updates ago.
Well before this, it was fast to load and switch. I use this for a band tool, to show the guys songs quick..the past couple weeks, one guys is was just like drop it man..that thing takes too long.
nothing has changed on my phone..
Its a photon 4g motorolla on sprint.
System version 44.4.13.mb855.sprint.en.us
android 2.3.5
I used to be on a different email address, but same app..old is when i switched.
What do I do? go back to the products i deemed inferior? I dont want to. I want this fixed..or at least want to roll back to an old version somehow that worked! I cant pay 10 bucks a month for something that is virtually unusable and causes me stress every day.
Hi David,
Thanks for writing in, and I apologize about the trouble. Wiping the application from your device and reinstalling may resolve this. Here’s how to do so:
1. Uninstall the Rdio app from Settings>applications>manage apps>Downloaded. Find Rdio in the list, select it, then tap 'Uninstall.'
2. After uninstalling the app from your device, plug the device into your computer, and select "USB Mass Storage" to add or remove files.
3. Next, make sure the Rdio app file (directory location: Android>Data>com.rdio.android.ui) has been deleted, and empty your trash.
4. Go to the Google Play Store from your device, and download and reinstall the Rdio app for Android
5. Check and see if the problem persists.
Please let us know your results.
Thanks for your patience,

Ok..did all that...I actually probably under estimated the times it took before..I wrote them down this time
opened app selected song (this was quick)
21 seconds before it started playing
i listed to half the song, switched to the next with the forward arrow. took 43 seconds to play next
i listed to some, clicked arrow next 50 seconds to play
Then i selected a track out of the list...took 22 seconds to play.
then i selected a new albumn took 17 seconds to play song.
I then arrowed ahead and it took 45 seconds to play the next.
I am on 4g sprint across from sprint center arena with full bars and 4g!
sitting at my desk before, with the old app..before the loading lines..we were talking 5 second maximum..if not immediate every time.
can i just roll back?
oh and switching songs...just took 9 seconds.
i man from one song to next automatic...9 seconds.
Hi David,
I'm sorry about the continued difficulties, we are currently working on updates to the app, and our engineering team would like to see logs from your device. To send a log, click Settings > Submit Log.
If you could please send us a log, and email back when you've done this, I'll have engineering take a look ASAP.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation while we work through this.
Cheers,

I have the same problem with my iPhone 4G. Even with full bars mine takes about 30 sec a song to load. Only really loads quickly with wifi. But even only then when I'm close to the base. In my yard, where I can download large items online decently fast, adds 10 sec of load time for any Rdio iPhone song. I even have high-quality streaming on 'Never'.
Hi Henry,
Sorry to hear you’re experiencing playback issues on your iPhone. Here are some suggestions for preliminary troubleshooting:
1. Quit and restart the app (to do this, close out of the app, then double-click the ‘home’ icon. You’ll see Rdio appear in the taskbar. Hold the icon until it wiggles, and you see a minus sign appear).
2. Restart your device. Does the problem persist after a restart?
3. Make sure you’ve upgraded to the most recent version of the app. The bug you encountered may have already been fixed in our most recent update.
4. Do you experience this issue with synced tracks, or while streaming only?
5. Try streaming over both a 3G and wifi connection. Does one connection work properly, but not the other?
Thanks for your patience and help with this troubleshooting—do send us details if the issue persists after trying out the above.
Cheers,

If you browse the Android help forums, you'll see this issue come up multiple times under different titles. I posted this issue back on April 10th titled "Long Dramatic Pause".
I continue to hope with each update that they'll fix it, but unfortunately they haven't. I've sent numerous logs and performed numerous wipes of the app on my Motorola Electrify (same phone as Photon 4G). I love everything about Rdio except for this one pesky bug. It's painful to suffer through the long pauses. It's embarrassing when you're riding along in the car and you keep getting asked "What happened to the music?" I say "Oh, it just a bug in the app, it'll start in a second." Their response, "Wow, and you pay for this service?"
I've begged before, and I'll beg again. Please sort out this bug Rdio, pretty please... with a cherry on top.
Hi Shawn,
We hear you, and sorry about the frustration. The logs and information you (and other users) have shared with us will help us get to the bottom of this issue. Thanks very much for your patience.
Best,

Hey Kevin,
I wanted to let you know that I just recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S3 and I'm not experiencing any of the delay issues I had on my Motorola Electrify. I actually see the song buffer in the seek bar!! Also, there is no delay between songs when playing in offline mode.
