Sonos - Some tracks, not all, are now ending before the track completes.

jared langguth Nov 21, 2012 04:12PM PST

Hi,

I'm being using rdio via my Sonos system successfully for a while now, but recently some tracks will end before the song finishes. I have an unlimited account. What would cause the rdio app to prematurely skip to the next track?

Another customer logged a similar issue, but I didn't see a resolution.

Hi Jared,

Sorry about the trouble. Do you have the same issues listening to Rdio through your computer or on a mobile device? If the issues seem localized to Sonos, their support team will likely be able to help resolve this issue. You can contact them directly here: http://www.sonos.com/support/

I hope that points you in the right direction. If there's anything else we can help out with from the Rdio side of things, please let me know.

Cheers,

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the instant response. I noticed the other day that the rdio osx app was pausing songs occasionally, but that is the only time I've had an issue with the osx app.

I will contact Sonos, but can you find out from your development team what behaviours could cause the rdio app to skip to the next track? That may help us all diagnose the issue.

Regards,
Jared

The problem turned out to be that I had daisy chained the network connection out of the Sonos Bridge...which I guess was too much traffic for it, and was causing connection errors. Thanks for your help Kevin.
